I wanted to pass on the online version of this article ("The Fine Scale of Time" by Megan Sexton) that ran in the USC Times earlier this fall. It's a short piece about my work at 38FA608. The photo is me examining some of the conjoining lithic debris from the Guilford-age deposit at the site. Enjoy!

Andy, I’m curious on your thoughts going into the new year with major breakthroughs expected: 1) The brothers on the Curse of Oak Island show have found a verifiable Roman artifact from the first or second century AD on the island and more Roman’s artifacts are expected. 2) Hutton Pulitzer is announcing that his big documentary on the 90 foot stone is finally coming, which he claims he acquired through the help of a congressman and has irrefutable proof of ancient contact and much more. 3) Scott Wolter has a highly anticipated book coming out in Spring on the Cermona Document and Sinclair Journals and is going to make a big media announcement on items they have found and those they plan to dig up. It looks like it’s going to be a big banner year!

Hello,

I think you posted this comment on the wrong blog post -- this one is about actual, real archaeology.

I haven't watched Curse of Oak Island this year, and I don't plan to unless there's something genuinely interesting. As far as I can tell, that program has produced a whole lot of nothing and has spent a whole lot of time doing it. There is no good, positive evidence for any of the spectacular claims of pre-Columbian contact, etc. It's all baloney.

Hey Andy, they found a Roman Pilum on the island 2 episodes ago and this time, unlike the sword, they had antiquity experts confirm the origin as Roman dating the first and second century period AD. What are your thoughts? I think it would be wise to do a post for this topic and the other claims coming so we can focus on it.
