I also give you another cartoon from Killbuck, which pretty much sums it up.
This is just a quick not to point you in the direction of the latest addition to the Fake Hercules Sword club: the Cvet sword (it will become Sword 12 in the Fake Hercules Sword Database). It is another copper alloy sword that I think is probably similar to the Spain sword (Sword 7) and the Florida eBay sword (Sword 10) -- it has a relatively short, unfullered blade that is missing the casting anomalies present in the Type J swords.
I also give you another cartoon from Killbuck, which pretty much sums it up.

I apologize for maybe changing subject but in catching up on other news of the day (and last night) I see that in the divert and deflect attention game, Boltgate lives a last breath or two. The Cant Hook or Log Roller spike has been unfortunately maybe associated with a specific brand name, i.e. Peavey. It’s pretty safe to assume that this isn’t the only company that made these things and also fully correct to understand that tools were often bench made or blacksmith made at the local level, before industrialization or because of remote location from suppliers. In the antiques and collectables market we call these ‘primitives’ and ‘wall hangers’, of which farm implements and the like are a big part. Unfortunately, by trying to manipulate the input of the President of the Peavey company, the divert and deflect game carries on. If these spikes aren’t specifically a catalog number item from the historic lines of the Peavey company, they are likely from any number of other sources, commercial or local. The Pres did say nonetheless that in the old days they made three sizes, essentially small medium large, but the current norm is close to the medium. The old small, would likely be really close to the size of the OI spikes. The Log Roller illustrated by Blockhouse also clearly has the ‘primitive’ look to it, not the look of an industrial commercial piece of old, any number of which you find online. Interestingly, and very telling, the majority of these antique Log Rollers or Cant Hooks you find on eBay have the spikes missing!
