Wild Carolina

This is my effort to learn about the wild plants and animals of the Carolinas, from the mountains to the sea. My rules for myself are that I'm not allowed to make an entry until I see it in person "in the wild" (i.e.,  not in captivity in a zoo or botanical garden), take a photograph, and attempt to identify a plant or animal.  I hope to average at least a few new entries per week, which I think will get me pretty far into the most common species in the course of year.

I'm starting on July 1, 2018 with some photos from a recent trip to Edisto. Then I'll add new photos as possible and also go back through photos from the last few years as I have time.
