Wild Carolina: Flowering Trees (and other Woody Things with Leaves)
This section is for flowering trees. For conifers, go here.
Unidentified -- some kind of holly?
This was growing on the inland side of the dunes. It formed a low, dense tangle, perhaps 12' tall at its tallest. I thought maybe it was yaupon, but the leaves don't look right (they lack the sawtooth edges). There were large branches sprawling along the ground (I think it was all the same plant). Several bird nests. |
Pecan (Carya illinoinensis)
